Like it is for many in this world, growing up for me was not easy, there was a lot of arguing, I was bullied and abused by my step-father and mother as well as kids from school. With each day that passed, I learned to drown my pain through poetry, music and art. When my son first started school 2 years ago, I sent him to public school. With all the knowledge I had gained about the public school system, it was very heavy on my heart that it was against God’s will. I really wanted to home school him but had some concerns because he is an only child. I also wondered how he was going to get exposure to socialization with other children. Additionally, I was filled with fear that I would fail at being a good teacher.

Several months ago, I prayed for the Lord to direct my path, saying, “If it is Your will for me to home school my son, then give me a sign or put someone on my path to help me.” In the meantime, I felt impressed to seek out other parents who home school in my area, as well as activities for home schooled children, because I was going to base my decision on these factors. Sadly, I had no success. I began to lose hope that I would ever find what I was seeking. However, in those moments, God, in various ways, reminded me to be patient. Read More

Love and MarriageI came across this image this morning and it made me think about the relationship I have with my husband. We share a bond that is rare these days, and the reason our marriage has lasted for more than half our lives is because we quickly learned, that love isn’t just a feeling.

The honeymoon phase in relationships only lasts a short while and after that things begin to change. Being in relationships isn’t always easy and just as you will have moments of happiness there will also be moments of darkness. And depending on what your relationship is built upon will determine whether moments of darkness, make or break your love.
