Today’s Message: Patience

by Kimberly Dawn on January 16, 2012

It’s difficult at times dealing with life when we are attacked by the enemy. Sometimes we feel like the darkness will never end but our suffering is only for a moment compared to eternal life in Heaven. God does things in His own time not ours and eventually everything He has promised to us will be fulfilled just as it always has before. It’s important to be patient, seek the direction He wants to take us and keep our eyes focused on His promises so that we don’t lose sight of His love.

For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it will speak, and not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it, for it will surely come; it will not delay. ~Habakkuk 2:3

Habakkuk 2:3 KJV | NKJV | ESV | NASB | NLT

Are you feeling anxious in your life? Ask God to give you patience.

Blessings,

Today’s Message: Spiritual Gifts

by Kimberly Dawn on January 12, 2012

Before I became a believer I was an inspirational fantasy artist. I worked so hard at what I did and the entire experience was like climbing uphill. I had a passion to want to help people but at the same time I wanted to make money and be accepted by people of the world. I had often wondered why God would not answer my prayers for success but as I look back with new eyes I see that He strongly opposed what I was doing. Towards the end of that journey He allowed Satan to have his way with me and I began to become very popular and make money with what I was doing. I was so happy because it made me feel like I was on my way to great success.

Then one day several months later God opened my eyes and showed me the direction He wanted me to go in and that was to give up what I was doing and follow Jesus. It was such a difficult time for me because there were choices I knew I had to make and not long after that I finally walked away from everything. At first it was hard because I felt like I was losing something but God quickly showed me I wasn’t losing anything at all and I needed to begin looking at my journey through the new eyes He gave me.

Everyone has a purpose in life and the gifts we are given are from God. Perhaps you might be good in art, music, missionary work, minister, medical field, counseling, working with children and so on. The gifts we are given are to be used to fulfill His purpose and to bring honor and glory to God and you should never compare the value of your gifts to another because they are all important in their own special way.

Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. ~1 Corinthians 12:4-7

1 Corinthians 12:4-7 KJV | NKJV | ESV | NASB | NLT

Do you know what your special gifts are? How has God called you to serve Him with those gifts?

Blessings,
Kimberly Dawn
